Glasgow Kiss team moves to the front of the leaderboard after second day of racing
Welcome back to Sentosa Island in Singapore, for day 3 of the 21st Singapore Straits Regatta. The dock, at One 15 Degree Marina, was a hive of activity and excitement, as the sailors prepared to enjoy another superb day for sailing.

Warm waters, great winds, a stunning racing landscape, and the generous hospitality, make Singapore one of the best spots for sailing. There is no winter here. The 21st Singapore Straits Regatta provides an ideal opportunity for Europeans to leave their cold weather behind, and enjoy sailing and holidays. They can simply fly over and join the fleet.

On the race track, teamwork precision will make or break a race performance. Synergy and communication is critical for maximum success.  In the 3-person SB20, everyone has their role. The team that works best together will win.

Focus on teamwork is fundamental, but strategy & tactics also determine the overall performance. Fleet racing is like a “living” chess game, where all the boats try to optimize their position on the race track, based on weather predictions & their opponents’ moves.  Using the racing rules to your advantage to attack another boat, reacting when a boat does the same to you, maneuvers against maneuvers, and proper positioning are all within the game.

A game that Nils Razmilovic & his Glasgow Kiss team from Great Britain have executed perfectly. Counting 3 wins from 7 races, they move to the front of the leaderboard. Werner Team, skippered by Germany’s Johannes Babendererde, knocked out two superb results, 2 not so good, and drop to 2nd. Former America’s Cup sailor, Australian Jervis Tilly and his TARA team, raced consistently, and hold their leaderboard 4th.

After a demanding day, teams enjoyed the shoreside hospitality, and the chance to share racing stories, before some rest ahead of the deciding race day. Follow the final day with our next report!
